Hi Everyone!
Staff here. We know that the blog has been a little bit quiet during the last few days.
What can we say? We’ve been busy!
On the 26th, our OPEN DAY many members of the local community and the chapter came to visit us and got a little taste of what our village is all about. As a camp we felt like we did a fantastic job and all of our guests were very happy! One of our guests was a Norwegian participant from the very first CISV village ever. Not bed, eh?
The 27th was UPSIDEDOWN DAY (thanks to the marvelous JC’s). We started the day with lullabies, had dinner for breakfast…some even walked backwards (carefully!). We put on a great surprise for the JCs and did an activity during which we met a very fascinating new culture and did our best to understand them. In the evening we had an amazing talent show. The kids blew our socks off!
Yesterday, the 28th was our excursion to Oslo (weeehooo!) We visited the beautiful and interesting Nobel Peace Prize centre and learned about this important award and how it has contributed to global peace. Then we all explored Oslo in small groups. Some shopped, some sat in the park, others just baked in the unusually hot Norwegian sunshine. You can imagine that most of us slept on the bus back to camp.
Last night we had a surprise activity in the middle of the night… It was called The House of Feelings…
Want to know more? We’d love to tell you but it’s lunchtime at the moment!! You’ll have to ask your special village person when you see them. Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait too long. We only have two days left!
Everybody is doing sparklingly well, even if we’re getting a little bit sad about leaving each other.
Love from all of us here at Slemmestad Barneskole.
